I completed my undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Criminology at North Carolina State University and am thrilled to be continuing on to a Master’s degree at UNCW, and to be working with Dr. Clements. My research interests include recurring criminal and violent behavior and the intersections of crime, mental health, and substance abuse. I plan to purse my PhD in Clinical Psychology after completing my masters and eventually work in community mental health treatment.

My name is Hailey Grant, and I'm a senior psychology student. I joined Dr. Clements lab this past semester and already am enjoying every part of it. My favorite part of being in the lab is gaining experience with running experiments and collecting data, which is something that most undergraduate students never get to experience. I'm actively working on graduate school applications, with hopes of going into a Ph.D. program for Clinical Psychology.

I'm an undergraduate psychology major at UNCW, and I'm very eager to get involved in the field. I have high postgraduate aspirations, and expect that working in Dr. Clements' lab will lead to many new discoveries about the role of research in the field of psychology, along with personal growth in my endeavors as a student. My interests in psychology are widespread, though in regards to this lab, I hope to make a distinction between male and female perpetrators, along with potential differences between heterosexual and homosexual couples.

I’m a senior at UNCW and couldn’t be prouder that I get to spend my last two semesters here as a psychology major in Dr. Clement’s lab before applying to grad school in hopes of pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Starting in the lab this past semester was exciting and taught me valuable skills in data entry, presentation confidence, and research on specific topics, all of which will help me further my education in the future. My outside hobbies include, reading, writing, – as I’m a Creative Writing minor – and playing for UNCW’s Quidditch team.
